Art now and forever, amen.

Finally posting up scans of my most recent artist book, edition of 5. “GUISE” is an exploration of conformity and the juxtaposition of the bizarre, the seen self versus the true self, and a commentary on the perceived image.

One of the books is currently in the “Open Wide” show in Lancaster, PA. Hand made, coptic binding, with original imagery printed on semi-transparent paper with beautiful gold-foiled roses.

Very excited to share these. If you’d like cleaner images of the ladies in masks, I can easily post them! Just send me a message in my inbox. :)

I hope you enjoy them!

This looks like it’s emulating the style of Liepke. Unfortunately, there was no credit (shame on you, tumblrs!), but I believe the signature in the corner is the name “Carson”. Any leads, please let me know.
Regardless, this is beautiful. I love the push and pull in the space that’s happening.

I haven’t posted any inspiring art on my blog lately, but I’d like to share some with you guys! This is work by my very good friend, Evan Kitson. He’s about to graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in NY. He’s also super amazing. :D ekitson:

Were I called on to define, very briefly, the term Art, I should call it ‘the reproduction of what the Senses perceive in Nature through the veil of the soul.’ The mere imitation, however accurate, of what is in Nature, entitles no man to the sacred name of ‘Artist.’
